Whimsical Painting Inspired by Wildness Kingdom

This artwork is inspired by a unique theme park in China called “Wildness Kingdom” (荒野之国) — a place built almost entirely from recycled and repurposed materials: old car parts, discarded metal scraps, broken appliances, and other cast-offs. The park transforms waste into wonder, turning forgotten fragments into stories of creativity and renewal.

I was captivated by its architecture — whimsical, surreal, and full of life. You’ll find houses patched together from salvaged doors and roof shingles, giant sculptures crafted from twisted scrap metal, and winding pathways built from remnants once destined for the dump. The aesthetic blends steampunk grit with fairy-tale warmth: rusted textures beside bright balloons, recycled car cabins turned into playhouses, and weathered metal shaped into fantastical creatures.
I couldn’t wait to translate this stunning architectural world into a painting. I imagined a girl riding her bicycle through a field of golden grass, her loyal dog perched happily in the basket. Soft lights float through the air as red balloons drift gently above, illuminating the whimsical buildings and filling the scene with quiet wonder.
While working on this piece, I realized it would make a perfect puzzle. After finishing the artwork, I tested it as a puzzle design through Printify — and it turned out beautifully.
