When you first see the packaging for my artwork, you are greeted by a very specific, soulful shade of green. This isn't just a trendy design choice for a box; it is the thread connecting my brand to my heritage.
This is the story of Jie Green (结绿)—the signature color of my packaging.
A Treasure from Ancient Literature In the palette of Traditional Chinese Colors, "Jie Green" is the name of a legendary, precious jade. Its history stretches back over two thousand years to the Warring States period (战国时代), where it was described as a treasure so rare that it was prized by the greatest nations of the time.
"Pearls and jade are scarce... but Jie Green and Xuan Li are prized by the great powers."
Historically, "Jie Green" has always represented nobility, auspiciousness, and the quiet beauty of a hidden gem. It evokes the deep vitality of nature and the lustrous, timeless elegance of ancient jade.
A Gift from My Father The reason I chose this specific color for my packaging is deeply personal: "Jie Green" is my Chinese name, Jie Lu (结绿).
Before I was born, my father spent many days searching through classical dictionaries to find a name that carried both depth and beauty. He chose this ancient term for a "peerless treasure" to be my namesake. By using this color for the box that holds my paintings, I am carrying my father’s wishes and my cultural roots into the world.
The Soul of the Design I wanted the exterior of my puzzles to feel as intentional as the art inside. I chose this sophisticated and restrained green for my new box design because:
It is luminous and refined: Much like a piece of polished jade, Jie Green has a soft, muted depth that feels organic and high-end.
It sets a peaceful stage: The rich, quiet tone of the box provides a beautiful contrast to the colorful, whimsical artwork tucked inside. It offers a moment of calm before you dive into the vibrant world of the puzzle.
It is my personal signature: Since this color is my namesake, it is my way of sharing a piece of my story with you before you even lift the lid.
